When you read the lineup for the World Car awards finalists, you’ll understand — they don’t call the New York International Auto Show an international show for nothing. Most of the domestics, unfortunately, had to stay home for this one. But the Tesla Model S, which has been extremely popular at the auto shows this year, stands out in this crowd. At least in the Green category. The coveted 2013 “World Car” Awards will be handed out at a media breakfast and press conference on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 8:15 a.m. at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York.
The World Car of the Year Awards were established in 2003 to reflect the truly global nature of the 21st-century automotive business and, at the same time, recognize and reward automotive excellence on a global scale.
