The child in us believes that if we are good, Santa will give us what we want for Christmas. I know I have been good. We asked our intern, and her friends what car would they like to see under their Christmas tree? Now what I immediately realized is the Millennials and Gen X’ers, men and women have totally different expectations and needs. Here are our desires for under the tree, this year.

“On Christmas morning, I would like to find an energy efficient vehicle under my tree. It also should be something that can help me truck through the snow in Michigan. I would like a remote starter, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel. It would feature a sunroof for warm summer evenings and have all of my favorite music installed every time I drive it. An ideal vehicle would fit my whole family inside for road trips as well.”

Jenny, 24

The car I would have liked to see under the tree this year would have been the Chevy Suburban. The Chevy Suburban’s luxury features and elegant body style, appeal to me. Also, its support for Android Auto, a seamless integration of software that bonds your phone and your car is an excellent feature. Furthermore, the 2017 Chevy Suburban has the power of a V8 with the cargo space and towing capacity to haul pretty much anything you want. That’s my kinda vehicle. Continue reading

Last month Mini Cooper displayed two new vehicles at the LA Auto Show; the Countryman and the John Cooper Works Clubman. As the successor to the original compact car, the Countryman has everything a compact car demands. With its superb turbo technology, the engine is highly efficient. More features in the Countryman include LED headlamps, Mini navigation which provides touchscreen functions, and luggage compartments perfect for taking trips. Speaking of travel, the Countryman also features a MINI picnic bench which turns the luggage compartment into a seat for outdoor breaks!

The all new John Cooper Works Clubman takes extreme driving to a compact level. MINI says that it is the most powerful engine to be found in their vehicles. With its high-performance technology, the JCW Clubman brings sporty and posh to a new level. The interior takes on the same look as the outside with its red and black color combination. The all-wheel drive is constantly monitoring road conditions as well as speed. The JCW Clubman will be released this month!

The all-new 2017 Mazda CX-5 has been revamped since its initial debut in 2012. The newly redesigned model has been upgraded with new engines and a slightly more bulkier design. Making its debut at the LA Auto Show this November, the CX-5 Mazda has created a vehicle that provides customers with an emotional connection as well as a satisfying driving experience. The CX-5 shows inspirations from Mazda’s previous models, but assures consumers that the vehicle is a state-of-the-art package.

The vehicle is a driver’s dream. With the sleek cabin to the Active Driving Display, the Mazda makes driving easier. As on all Mazda’s the engines will remain at three engines, but the horsepower will be improved upon. The interior will be almost identical to the CX-4 with its pop out infotainment screen and center console. The CUV doesn’t stray far from the original. With features similar to the CX-9 and Mazda3, the CX-5 is fully redesigned according to Mazda. It details an all-around quietness for passengers to enjoy. The 2017 CX-5 will go on sale in Japan in February and then globally later in 2017.

“You Look Just Like Your Father”, the 2017 Jeep Compass

As I look back over the holidays and the Los Angeles Auto Show, I am reminded of the gathering of friends and family. It’s great to see familiar faces. Those family members, who were once young and awkward, now have grown up to be wonderful adults. It is only fitting that I discuss the all new Jeep Compass that was revealed at the LA show last week.

The first Jeep Compass reminded me of an awkward teenager who hadn’t quite grown into their features, large metal grilles and big eyes. Most of the Jeep family matured into fine products, except for the awkward adolescent, the baby who looks like a product of an affair between two cousins, that’s a whole other story. A couple of product cycles years later, with some aggressive styling, the Jeep Compass has emerged as a debutante of the ball.

The new Jeep Compass sports visual cues from the Jeep family down to the trim levels, Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk The FCA’s “small wide 4×4 architecture” combines world class capability with more than exceptional on-road driving. The fuel-efficient 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with optional Multi-Air 2 technology, will be available in US markets. The 2017 Jeep Compass will have 3 transmissions available to deliver an on-road of off-road experience. The Jeep Compass will be available in over 100 countries and produced in four, solidifying Jeep global reach for the brand. Continue reading
